“There is a kind of elevation which does not depend on fortune; it is a certain air which distinguishes us, and seems to destine us for great things; it is a price which we imperceptibly set upon ourselves.”
Francois de La Rochefoucauld
Iesha Foxworth is redefining how we look at art, fashion, and design. A lot of the times an aspiring artist is a solo journey less travelled. The artist begins to create and may feel good from what they are producing. Further along in their journey, they hit roads of frustration and dead ends. Some see the journey for what it is, and continue to stick with it, whereas others get discouraged and quit. They find something else to do. The later scenario is not thriving in purpose. The route Iesha is taking with her non-profit called Designing with Purpose (AKA DWP) is road full of open pathways. Her fulfillment in life comes from creativity and service. She is a fashion designer and producer, among many other hats. From meeting her you will see her heart motive:
She elevates OTHERS IN THEIR CREATIVE GIFTS by increasing awareness and exposure of their work. Iesha gets the job done as A TEAM EFFORT- no solo journey here! She is the hype woman behind and in front of the scenes.
Iesha started Designing with Purpose this year because she saw the invisibles. The people who work so hard in their craft with little to no platform to present it to the world. From youth to older adults, she saw the need for a platform to give others a surviving chance towards their dreams and life purpose. She is supported by a team of talented of designers and artists, focusing on connecting and advancing the community through various forms of art. It is not just design and fashion. It can be photography, poetry, fashion design, modeling, painting, etc. There is a need for the arts to be seen as a way to build connectedness, community healing, entertainment and empowerment across Southern California. Los Angeles will always be a hot spot to find art & fashion, but how do we find other artists that live in cities far away from L.A.?
I traveled to the inland empire to see what this was all about. I later come to find out that Iesha’s very first show was sold out! I was blessed to be able to attend to see what goes on behind the scenes leading up to the Art of Fashion Art Exhibit & Fashion show.

More behind the scenes looks below. Everyone worked so hard, there were multiple of hair and makeup artists and fashion designers prepping their models. There was a set up crew and an entire photography group capturing memorable moments and video. The energy was high and it felt like a community. I got there a few hours before showtime, and I was impressed how everyone was hyped! They were there longer than me because they had an 11am call time. Mind you the show started in the evening.
My outfit of the day. fringe and a headpiece.
My favorite designer was the headpieces made by Gitana. ALL hand made! I think I will get one for my birthday March 2020. What is resonating with you when you see these pieces?
